This is the story of 24-year-old Nupur* from Chhattisgarh. Three years ago, while travelling to college, her dupatta got caught in the wheel of the motorbike. Her neck was strangled and vocal cords damaged. Despite multiple visits to hospitals, Nupur did not get her voice back. Her brother and sister-in-law brought her to CMC Vellore. The doctors in our ENT department told them she needed surgery. Nupur’s family worried that they could not afford it. But CMC’s Charity and the Emergency Fund helped cover the costs. Recovering in the general ward, Nupur can now speak and is awaiting further procedures to remove her tracheostomy tube. Her family are thrilled to hear her voice again!
Last year, the Emergency Fund supported 120 patients like Nupur. This fund depends solely on well-wishers like you. Our New Year Giving target is to support 40 patients in the next three months by raising ₹32 lakhs. We have successfully raised 65% from 156 generous donors. Your gift matters! A contribution of ₹10,000, ₹50,000 or more will make an immense difference to our patients.
